Solid Waste Disposal: Taos Pines residents may use any dumpster in Moreno Valley area outside Angel Fire and Eagle Nest (i.e., Colfax County). They may also use the Angle Fire Transfer and Recycling Facility just off Hwy 434 (east side). Kathy Trujillo, Colfax County Administrator, has informed us that there is an agreement with the Village of Angel Fire allowing Taos Pines residents to use the Angel Fire facility for delivering garbage. However, there is some confusion regarding that issue currently and it is being investigated. Slash may be taken to this facility but there is a $3/cu. yd. charge for any non-Angel Fire resident. There are no “free days” for non-Angel Fire residents. Slash is not accepted on Mondays and Tuesdays, which are “burn” days. There will be a charge for large “roll-off” items such as appliances, furniture, carpets, etc. This charge is $3/cu. yd. That also includes construction materials. However, untreated wood (no paint, stain or chemicals) is treated as slash and disposed of in the slash pile. Refrigerators, freezers and anything else with Freon are charged $40. That’s because the Freon must be removed and the appliance inspected. Hours: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm. Call 377-6967.
