CHIPPER DAY SUGGESTIONS AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Chipper Days Start at 9:00 AM at the Fire Station
County Operator will Conduct a Mandatory Safety Orientation
- Before Leaving the Fire Station
Hours are 9:00 - 5:00 PM

Suggestions for Stacking Wood:
1- Stack piles away from drainage ditches
2- Smaller piles are best of small pieces, slach and branches
3- Pieces up to 10’ long work best
4- Make sure two people can lift all pieces
5- No stumps
6- Stack pieces with the trunk end toward the road for easier placement in the chipper

Personal Protections:
1- You must wear EYE PROTECTION
2- You must wear EAR PROTECTION
3- Long sleeves and long pants are highly recommended
4- Gloves and hats are highly recommended
5- Hard toe shoes are highly recommended
6- Stay hydrated - water will be provided by the POA
7- Protective mouth/nose covering suggested as much dust is generated
